The Eastern Cherokee, Southern Iroquois, Eastern Cherokee and United Tribes is a tribe officially recognized by the South Carolina Commission on Minority Affairs. We are primarily descended from the Cherokee people that were exempted from or managed to escape from Indian Removal.

Today, we remain here in out home within the Palmetto State. We are very appreciative to all wonderful people who may be able to help with funds for our annual operating cost and our hope of obtaining tribal grounds. We are farmers, archaeologists, service members, firemen, law enforcement officers and university professors. We are a family and have a community – however we have no land! Land is so important to Indigenous Americans. Powwows and other tribal gatherings are how we meet in a large group and protect our culture from extinction.

With land, we would have the ability to have tribal buildings to house homeless tribal members, operate a food bank out of and even maybe hold classes for adult education classes like the teaching of traditional herbal medicine or the making of traditional clothes. We have so far resisted extinction and land and facilities are the key to teaching new generation about their culture before it is forever lost!
